LOUDON LIVE IN LONDON, out on January 31st

In 2024, Loudon Wainwright III played a short residency at Nell’s Jazz and Blues in London. Because the shows were being recorded, alongside some of his current favourites, he took the opportunity to include some new material of his own and a few perfectly executed cover versions of songs by others that he has admired over the years.

The twenty-one tracks that made it onto this double album make it an essential addition to the three previously released live albums that dot the discography of his fifty-plus-year recording career. As can be expected, this is a fine example of the man doing what he does best, and marks another chapter in his remarkable life, preserved to the artist’s satisfaction to the extent that he is happy to share it with the world in the form of this commercial release.

Loudon will perform as a special guest on the week-long 2025 Transatlantic Sessions that commence in Glasgow and finish up at the Royal Festival Hall in London, beginning 31st January, concurrent with the release of this remarkable set.
